I am the breastfeeding counsellor behind Surrey Breastfeeding.

I have always been passionate about breastfeeding!
My career started at the age of 18 training as a paediatric nurse and then as a midwife. Having lived for many years in Asia and America, I have seen breastfeeding from all angles and perspectives - I worked with new mums and babies at a refugee camp in Singapore, set up a well-baby clinic in Malaysia and also worked as a community midwife in Hong Kong.
Once back in the UK, I trained and volunteered as a peer supporter for the Breast-Feeding Network for 5 years, a role I absolutely loved. More recently, my daughter and many of her friends have reached the age of having new babies and it opened my eyes to the real lack of support young mums have. I decided I wanted to devote more time to supporting breast feeding families and undertook further training to become a breastfeeding counsellor.

and why I do what I do
I firmly believe that any mum, no matter the circumstances they find themselves in, can breastfeed their baby with the right advice, support and determination. My aim is to make your breast-feeding journey easier and to offer you my experience, knowledge, guidance and understanding at one of the most challenging times of your life.
